PORTFOLIO - STICKY COTTAGE
STICKY COTTAGE
Sticky Cottage is a semi-detached Grade II listed stone built character
cottage in a desirable village location. The property had been untouched for many
years and was in need of major refurbishment. Bedroom 3 was reduced in size to
incorporate a WC and shower upstairs, the bathroom and kitchen replaced and major
renovation works unearthed a very large inglenook and flag stone
flooring.
WILLIAMSTOWE Williamstowe is a
detached character cottage that was in need of thorough modernisation,
reconfiguring and refurbishment. A large stone fireplace was uncovered, the
floors sanded and painted with Sickens to appear limed but be hard wearing. The
original sitting room wall was removed to open up the space and natural limetone
tiling introduced to the kitchen and hallway. The overall effect created the
perfect environment in harmony with the many plants our Client
had.
MAY COTTAGE May Cottage is an attached period
former farm labourer's property, converted from 2 dwellings. The infrastructure
of the beams made moving the existing staircase position impossible without
removing parts of the beamwork. Hence, a bespoke open oak staircase was installed
in the same location with matching floorboards and shelving. State of the art
interior design software was used to show the beam infrastructure and alternate
possibilities in 2D and 3D. (Testimonial)
THE COTTAGE The Cottage is a period character
property. The conservatory was a recent addition and the brief was to create a
light, bright airy atmosphere, the Clients preferring a rural french colonial
feel as opposed modern to create a functional living and dining space. New
colours were proposed and introduced both to the walls and new curtains and
blinds created nailing the brief. (Testimonial)
SILVER BIRCHES Silver Birches was a
typical 1930's built detached property on a large plot. The property had not been
decorated or refurbished for 40 years. The house was redesigned and refurbished
in its existing layout, save a small amount of internal reconfiguration to
enhance the important rooms, kitchen and bathroom, though planning was granted to
extend. Bespoke solid oak kitchen with granite worksurfaces and natural limestone
tiling throughout.
KESTRELS Kestrels is a small 3 bedroom
detached cottage on a small plot surrounded by tall trees making the property
dark and gloomy inside and out. Cutting trees back and redecorating the interior
with light natural colours created a very light inviting space. The bathroom was
moved upstairs from the kitchen allowing enough space for a breakfast
room.
CHARLTON HOUSE Charlton House is a
Grade II listed period property with well proportioned rooms and original
features with an abundance of history, charm and character. Our brief was to
create a snug-room for the children, replacing carpets and curtains and
recommending wall colours in addition to providing a solution to work/storage
areas. (Testimonial)
